Dear Eastwood Collegiate Institute (ECI) Families,
The number of individuals currently experiencing homelessness in the Waterloo Region is unprecedented. In response to this urgent need, The Region of Waterloo has opened an emergency shelter at 1668 King Street East. This site will house 70 individuals experiencing unsheltered homelessness.
The King Street site will provide needed shelter services. For the first few months, the shelters will provide services for up to 70 individuals from 7 p.m. to 9 a.m., seven days a week.
