Let’s use Gr 10 English as an example:

First three letters represent the name of the course – not always obvious!

Number indicates the year:  1 = Gr 9 (First year of high school); 2 = Gr 10;  3 = Gr 11;  4 = Gr 12

The letter after the number = the Stream 

 

 

STREAMS:

Gr 9 and 10:                        Gr 11 and 12:

W = Destreamed                 C = College      

D = Academic                      M = Mixed C+U

O = Open                            U = University 

                                            E = Workplace

 

Note: the final letter in the code is for administrative purposes – you do not have to worry about this unless you work in Guidance!
