Demonstrate Respect and Responsibility |
We respect ourselves and others
- Identify yourself to any staff member upon request
- Anything that could harm you or others is not allowed at school
- Arrive in class on time, prepared, and ready to learn
- Cell phones and personal devices are not allowed in the classroom without teacher permission
|
Lions are Positive Community Members |
- The classrooms, cafeteria, gyms, bathrooms and hallways are public spaces. Keep all shared spaces clean and pick up after yourself. Be respectful in all conversations no matter where they take place. No swearing, or unkind language.
- All school expectations apply at school, our neighbourhood, the plaza, on the bus. School rules also apply to sports, field trips, clubs, and dances.
|
Lions Have the Right to Feel Safe |
- All students have the right to learn and grow in a safe, inclusive, respectful and accepting school. Everyone is different and that’s OK!
- Avoid any aggressive and/or negative behaviour that may cause harm to yourself or others. Harm can be physical, social, academic, online or verbal.
|
Academic Honesty & Plagiarism |
- Show your learning with your own work. Use your own words when completing assignments. Seek help from classmates and staff. When in doubt, ask your teacher.
|
Hurry, Hurry, Don’t Be Late! |
- It is important to arrive on time in your classroom before the bell goes. If you are late: Go DIRECTLY to class.
|
Bring Chromebooks fully charged everyday! |
|
ECI is Vape and Smoke-Free |
- The Smoke Free Ontario Act means you can’t smoke or vape in bathrooms or on school property or you could be fined $300 by a Waterloo Region Bylaw Officer.
- If you must smoke or vape, it must be on the public sidewalk at the front of the school.
|
Keep your belongings safe! |
- Leave valuables at home or locked in your locker. Do not take valuables to the gym change rooms. Remember, only one person per locker. Lockers cannot be shared.
|
If You See Something, Say Something |
- Everyone has a duty and plays a role in keeping ECI safe, respectful, and welcoming. If you see behaviour that is unsafe, harmful, or goes against the Code of Conduct, don’t hesitate to report it to a staff member right away. This includes:
- Smoking or vaping on school property
- Bullying, harassment, or unsafe behaviour
- Damaging or stealing property
- Any action that puts someone’s safety or well-being at risk
Speaking up helps protect everyone. If you see something, say something. |
