January 19 is Educational Assistant and Child and Youth Worker Appreciation Day. On this day, the Waterloo Region District School Board (WRDSB) asks you to take a moment to acknowledge and show your appreciation to all the incredible Educational Assistants (EAs) and Child and Youth Workers (CYWs) in the WRDSB.

The incredible dedication and work of WRDSB EAs and CYWs is evident every day as they strive to engage, encourage and provide a positive learning space where all students feel safe and supported in their learning journey.

These educators come to work with a passion and commitment to work with students who face many challenges at school and in doing so make a difference in their lives. We also want to acknowledge and give a special thanks to those EAs who supported in-person learning during the week of January 10th when we welcomed back more than 450 ACE students.

Our schools are a community and we are grateful for the many contributions made by EAs and CYWs. Thank you for the care and service you provide for the students who need it the most.

Today, we encourage you to celebrate our EAs and CYWs on social media by using the hashtag #EAsAndCYWsRock and tagging @wrdsb on Twitter or @wr_dsb on Instagram. Their impact directly affects our students and families, and we would love to hear how they have made a difference in the lives of the students they serve and support!
