To our Eastwood Collegiate students and families,

I want to make you all aware of an incident that happened this afternoon at our school.

Two students were arguing outside during lunch. One student was overheard stating they would call a friend from another school to come fight and that their friend had a weapon.

School administration was outside at the time and was able to bring students inside for questioning. Our School Resource Officer was called and police are investigating.

Sometimes, incidents like this can cause students to become anxious or feel uncomfortable. If your child is feeling uneasy and would like to speak with someone, supports are available and can be accessed through your child’s guidance counsellor.

We will always take whatever precaution is necessary to ensure the safety of our students and staff. We want to thank our partners at WRPS for helping to keep our schools safe places to learn.
