Thank you Eastwood!
February 4th, 2018
Dear Eastwood community,
My tenure as Principal at Eastwood Collegiate has come to an end and I am moving to Huron Heights S.S. beginning Semester 2 (Feb 2, 2018). As such, I wanted to let you know how much I have enjoyed and appreciated the privilege of being your Principal.
My five-and-a-half years here have been truly amazing and for that, I am most grateful to all of you. It is the ongoing support of community partners, neighbours, parents and staff that make Eastwood the jewel that it is. The combination of new Canadians you continue to welcome into Eastwood’s English Language Learner program, the incredibly talented students that make up the Integrated Art’s Program magnet, and the genuinely kind and caring students that reside in the Eastwood boundary are what make this school so accepting and unique.
I’ve said it many times before, but there really is no place like Eastwood. As much as I will miss all things Rebel, I’m comforted by the fact that your school is being left in the most capable hands of Mr. Ryan Hume, who will move from his Vice Principal role into that of Principal.
You can take the Rebel out of Eastwood, but it will be very difficult, to ever take the Eastwood out of this Rebel. Best wishes to all, Ex Oriente Lux!
