2018 REBEL Robotics and Parents Night at GOOGLE!
November 15th, 2017
FIRST Robotics Competition (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) is an international organization founded to inspire young people.
Eastwood REBEL Robotics was founded in 2008 as an extra-curricular program for math, technology, science and business students in grades nine to twelve. This upcoming season is our tenth anniversary and we would like to take the time to thank our sponsors, mentors and parents for all the support over the years. To see a list of our generous sponsors please see our webpage, which is listed below. Also at this time we would like to give a special thanks to our senior mentors who have been a part of the team for a decade: Brad Morris, Terry Fisher and Art Hare. Their leadership and guidance shaped our Robotics team to become a force to be reckoned with. In our first year of competition, we received the Rookie All-Star Award sending us to our first World Championship. In 2011 we won the Wisconsin Regional Championship and traveled to the World Championships to compete soon after.
If you are interested in being a part of the 2018 Robotics team please see Mr. Brown in room 15 anytime during breaks. Lastly, this year we will be hosting meetings at Eastwood as well as Google who is our namesake sponsor. In order to introduce our new space at Google we are having a parent’s night Monday, November 20th, 2017 at 6:00pm at Google.
Parent’s night – The address for Google is:
51 Breithaupt St. Kitchener
There will be some visitor parking spaces in the lot as well as parking on the street.
We don’t use the main Google entrance. Click on Google below for a photo showing where to enter…we’ll have someone at the door to let parents in starting around 5:45pm.
